Children's Dental Health Associates is currently seeking a Sterilization Technician for our Aston pediatric dental office! This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals interested in a career in health care or working in a dental office. As a sterilization technician, you will receive on the job training to prepare you for a career as a dental assistant.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Sterilization Technicians assist the dental care team with the following patient care duties:

  • Prepare work areas for treatments and procedures
  • Sterilize dental instruments
  • Check sterile supplies to ensure that they are not outdated
  • Deliver tools to specified locations in the office
  • Disinfect and sterilize tools, equipment, chairs, counters and surfaces, using sterilizers, aerators, or washers
  • Maintain records of inventory or tool usage and relay information to office manager to replenish supplies when inventory is low
  • Stock dental supplies

Train on the job to become a dental assistant, where you will learn how to:

  • Assist dentists chair side by handing them instruments during procedures
  • Ensure that patients are comfortable in the dental chair
  • Keep patients’ mouths dry by using suction hoses and other equipment
  • Instruct patients in proper oral hygiene

Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Dependable
  • Able to multitask and prioritize
  • Organized with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative, team player
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background clearances required to work with pediatric patients
